Andy Warhol Signed Yearbook - 1945
THE SCHENLEY JOURNAL 1945 - SIGNED BY ANDY WARHOL, WITH AN ORIGINAL SIGNED COMPOSITION
Pittsburgh: Schenley High School, 1945. First Edition. Well-preserved copy of Andy Warhol's senior class yearbook from Schenley HIgh School (Pittsburgh, PA), where he attended between 1942-1945.
His name appears as "Andrew Warhola" next to his senior portrait, though at that time he went by "Andy." The yearbook additionally shows Warhol in the group photograph for Chemistry Laboratory Assistants, and bears the portrait of his cousin, Michael B. Warhola. Deemed by the yearbook editors as being "as genuine as a finger print" - a designation that stayed with Warhol, who would incorporate his own finger prints into various works of art over the coming decades - one such composition is included here.
Together with an original composition by Warhol: single sheet of white stock measuring 8.5" x 11", bearing four of the artist's fingerprints and his signature (ca.1970's) Housed together in a custom red cloth case.
